Just found an article on the BBC news site about grants for fixing churches... Five churches in Shropshire have been awarded nearly £500,000 in grants by the Heritage Lottery Fund towards building restoration work. The churches to benefit are St John's in Kinlet, St Mary in Acton Burnell, St Peter in Stanton Lacy, Holy Trinity in Lydham and All Saints in Broseley. All Saints is due to get £127,000, the largest share of the funding. Its reverend Michael Kinna said the money would go towards repairing the church roof and nave windows. 'Falling masonry' It was built in 1845, seats up to 500 people and has a 600ft (183m) high ceiling. Now that's a ceiling I'd hate to paint! :-)
