I go from song to song and at the moment I am stunned and blessed by Jesus, you are worthy which I find is an amazing song.

I am also amazed at the healing and absolution to be found in Not Guilty Anymore  - a song which is touching and singing forgiveness over many in out church family.

What about you - what favourite/s do you have (always or the 'now' type)?

I listened to them both on your blog this evening and found the second one (in particular) to be just fantastic. A real Wow! It is what I need to hear, but I also need to go through the repentance bit (for my own sake) first despite knowing that I am "not guilty anymore" even so. Do I get things around the wrong way sometimes, or is it just the way humans happen to be... is this the experience of others too, or just mine?

Getting perspective and balance in repentance is something we all appear to have trouble with - I found this song to be so absolutely excellent in working towards remedying this.

The singer is singing about the loss of his daughter aged 5... but applies so well to so many sad situations

Just watched the youtube version, 3GR, and the images are great to go with the words.

I don't really have a favourite song at the moment, but have some favourite classical music (or motets from certain compositions) and love some of the old hymns. John Newton's Amazing Grace is just one of them.

Although I liked "Jesus, You are worthy", Vic, I liked "Not guilty anymore" more.

I have a soft spot for Ben Cantelon because he comes from a great evangelistic family. My first experience of evangelism on a big scale was in the mid-50's when one of his relatives - Paul Cantelon, brother of Willard Cantelon (and both were distant cousins of Walt Disney) spent a week in the Bournemouth area, each night completing an oil painting in 15 minutes, preaching while he was painting. The painting was given away to the person who brought the largest number of non-churched people with them. My dad hired a coach for the parents of Sunday School children who met in the local Community Centre - and that night he won the painting. I wouldn't be convinced that this could be achieved nowadays.

My favourite songs have to combine thoughtful words with good melodies.
Examples would be "In Christ alone, Before the throne  of God above" and "How deep the Father's love for us".

One song I have been unable to get out of my head is one that was recommended on the "Stand Firm" forum. It was recommended by someone who I have difficulty instinctively liking because of his strongly Calvinistic stance and his refusal to give in to compassion - but I can't get the song out of my mind. It is titled "Untitled hymn (Come to Jesus".

Hmm - I think we will have to agree to disagree over musical tastes.... I have to say that it would be being polite to say thy both leave me cold! (The ideas behind the lyrics are fine, as are *some* of the lyrics themselves, but the 'music'? and the repetitiveness? No thank you!)

That's the beauty of a broad church, we can all find something to our own tastes, and allow others to do the same.  :)
